Pathfinders (ages 12-16)

Alumni and nature enthusiasts welcome!

This program is for teens looking to deepen their knowledge of and connection to the natural world.  Participants will learn new ways to observe and connect to the world around them through art, sensory games, play, nature journaling and more. Pathfinders will grow their birding skills, hazard identification, and curiosity through exploring trails, games, and space to follow what sparks their curiosity!

Carolina Beach State Park

Date: Thursdays, July 25th - August 15th

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 

Cost:

$150 (and a $20 supply fee)

Nature Explorers Apprentice (Ages 12-16) 

Alumni and nature enthusiasts welcome!

Apprentice trainees will learn games, calls and agreements for the Nature Explorers program.  They will practice  "art of questioning", using walkies, and what we carry and how to respond to first aid situations. Participants will also be able to practice core routines like sit spot and storytelling (work-shopping a nature story of their own). Apprentice trainees will learn how to support and foster community/connection and mitigate/mediate conflict.

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 

Cost:

$30

Participants will receive a handbook, name tag and certificate upon completion.

*Non-refundable; training cancelled for severe weather will have a make-up day.

*Completing training does not require or guarantee participant to apprentice in future programs.
